His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh
It was with great sadness that the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club heard of the passing of His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh.
His love of the sea, be it in service with the Royal Navy or racing his favourite Dragons in the Solent was well known, and his support of our sailing community introduced many young people into this pastime we all so enjoy. There is much to thank him for.
Since 1958, the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club was honoured to have enjoyed the patronage of His Royal Highness the Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, and his visits to our Club are most fondly remembered.
As a mark of respect, the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club has lowered our flag to half mast.
The President, Commodore, Committee and Members of the Royal Cinque Ports Yacht Club join in offering our deepest condolences to Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II for her loss.
